You Are The Ideal Candidate If …

• You are early in your career (0-4 years), and ready to learn fast with an experienced and senior team, by building real things that matter

• You have had hands-on experience through co-ops or junior roles, and you are comfortable pushing code, writing tests, and using tools like git and Github in real workflows

• You have worked in a Unix-based environment (Linux/MacOS) and can find your way around the shell without fear

• You have gone deep on at least one programming language (bonus if it’s Ruby), and you understand different type systems and different programming paradigms

• You are curious and hungry to learn and grow, and you have an intuition when to build scrappy and when to slow down

• You want to move fast but you know that there is a delicate balance to strive between furiously churning out code and growing your design in a sustainable way

• You value feedback, love working with others, and believe respectful collaboration is how great software gets built

• You care deeply about your craft and you want to become the best at what you do, but you are not afraid to try new tools and technologies in your day to day, like LLMs and agentic IDEs

• You are pragmatic and purpose-driven: climate change is real, EVs are part of the solution, and you want to contribute to systems that actually work

 

Job Responsibilities

• SHIP CODE to production in your first week, and continue shipping every day

• SOLVE COMPLEX PROBLEMS with code that detects and resolves EV charger outages

• PIONEER predictive maintenance capabilities that will transform the industry

• MOVE FAST with short iterations and tight feedback loops

• OWN YOUR WORK from concept through deployment, infrastructure to frontend

 

Required Skills

• SOLID programming fundamentals - technologies can be learned on the job

• FAMILIARITY with development with git/Github and the shell environment in Linux or MacOs

Bonus Points

• A proven drive for simplicity

• Experience with frontend development, databases/infrastructure, data pipelines, machine learning, time-series data or IoT applications

• Experience with some of our tech: Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, Tailwind CSS, Docker

• Familiarity with LLM-assisted development tools, their strengths and  limitations

 

Other Requirements

• We are currently hiring only candidates who live in Canada and are eligible to work here

• Position based in Ontario, open to other provinces

• Comfortable working remotely, ideally Eastern Time Zone hours

• Up to 4 years of experience
