With support from the Ontario government through the Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network (OVIN) and in partnership with BGIS, Clockwork is developing an AI-powered software platform to enhance the reliability and efficiency of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.

Kitchener, Ontario – July 08, 2025 – Clockwork, a Kitchener-based technology company, is partnering with BGIS,  a global leader in facilities and energy management, to develop an intelligent software platform that enhances the operation and maintenance of  electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. This project is supported by the Government of Ontario through the Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network (OVIN) R&D Partnership Fund.

“By investing in homegrown innovation and helping local companies compete in global markets, Ontario is protecting the future of our automotive sector and ensuring the cars of the future are made in Ontario, by Ontario workers,” said Victor Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade. “Through the Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network, our government is strengthening our domestic supply chain, driving competitiveness and resilience, and creating good-paying jobs that will withstand this storm of tariffs and economic uncertainty.”

Clockwork’s platform aims to significantly improve the reliability and efficiency of EV charging system by offering a comprehensive, data driven view of the entire charging environment - including hardware, connectivity, and power systems. Leveraging AI, the platform detects usage patterns and anomalies, enabling operators to proactively identify and address issues before they impact drivers. This enhanced visibility allows operators to scale their infrastructure while maintaining reliable, full-power charging performance. Through this collaboration, BGIS is providing insight and feedback throughout the development process.

“Our mission is to make charging work better for everyone - drivers and operators alike. By giving operators a full picture of what’s happening at their sites and the tools to proactively address trouble areas, we’re helping them stay ahead of issues, manage more chargers, and deliver the reliability drivers depend on.” –  Andrea Curry, CEO of Clockwork.
“As we expand our EV infrastructure monitoring capabilities, we need tools that keep pace with the complexity and scale of the networks we manage, Clockwork gives us that visibility - across hardware, connectivity, and power systems - and supports end-to-end resolution with built-in automation. It enables our team to detect issues early, act quickly, and either resolve problems remotely or send the right crew with the right parts.” –  Brent Wilson, EV Program Manager at BGIS
“Ontario is in the driver’s seat of the global automotive and mobility sector, unleashing its boundless potential to foster innovation and catalyze lasting economic growth. This critical investment by the Ontario government through the Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network reflects Ontario’s strong commitment to fostering partnerships with global industry leaders, accelerating the growth of Ontario-made technologies, and harnessing the power of homegrown Ontario companies to create jobs and drive prosperity. Together, we ensuring that Ontario will continue to be a global automotive and mobility leader for decades to come,” – Raed Kadri, Head of OVIN (OCI)
“This investment highlights the critical role our homegrown companies play in shaping the future of mobility. Through OVIN, we are proud to support ambitious, made-in-Ontario technologies that are advancing electrification, smart infrastructure, and connected vehicle solutions – accelerating commercialization and keeping Ontario at the forefront of the mobility revolution,” – Claudia Krywiak, President & CEO, Ontario Centre of Innovation (OCI)
